1.1. The www.vfi.ie website (the “Website”) is run by the Vintners Federation of Ireland Limited (the “VFI”), a company limited by shares, registered in Ireland, with its registered address at VFI House, Castleside Drive, Rathfarnham, Dublin 14 being registered under number 112132.


2.1. Receipt, viewing of and accessing the information found in this Website may be prohibited in some jurisdictions. This Website is provided solely for information purposes to browsers EXCEPT those prohibited by the law of their citizenship, residence, domicile or otherwise from receiving the information as presented in this Website. If you are prohibited for the above reasons, please leave this site now. Should any individual accessing or viewing this Website have any uncertainty or doubts as to whether he or she can lawfully use the Website, then such individual should exit the site immediately.


3.1. The Website is the official website of the VFI and is provided according to, and is governed, by Irish law. By accessing or viewing any of the information provided in this Website, you are accepting that Irish law applies to the Website and that Irish courts have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute which may arise in any way in relation to use of the Website and its contents. Information appearing in the pages of this Website is not intended to be, nor should it be construed as and does not constitute an offer, invitation, representation, recommendation or warranty by or on behalf of the VFI, any of its members or on behalf of any other parties to supply any product or service.


5.1. Please note that you access and use of this Website is at your own risk. Neither the VFI, its members nor any other parties accept liability for any loss or damage of whatsoever nature including, but not limited, to direct, indirect, incidental, special, punitive or consequential losses or damages, or for any expenses arising out of, or in connection with the use or inability to use the Website, or in connection with any error, omission, defect, computer virus or system failure, or loss of any profit, business, contracts, revenue, anticipated savings, goodwill or reputation arising out of or in connection with the access of, use of, performance of, browsing in or linking to other websites from, the Website.

5.2. Browsers are advised that the information is subject to change and will be updated from time to time without notice been given to users. Browsers should note that the VFI may at any time without giving notice to browsers shut down the Website. Websites may be tampered with by unauthorised persons and accordingly, browsers should view the information provided as indicative only and subject to confirmation by our staff.

The VFI, its members and any other parties make no undertaking, representation or warranty in connection with the completeness or accuracy, reliability or timeliness of any information provided in these pages, and therefore, the information contained in the Website should not in any circumstances be relied upon.

5.4. E-mail and other methods of transmitting information over the Internet are subject to interference or scrutiny by third parties and should be independently verified. The security and privacy of such communications cannot be assured by the VFI and the risk of transmitting such communications lies entirely with the party supplying the information. Use of the Website is entirely at the user’s own risk and the user assumes full responsibility and risk of loss resulting from the use of or access to the Website and/or its contents.

In using the Website you agree not to distribute, upload or transmit any pornographic, obscene, offensive or menacing materials, not to distribute, upload or transmit any pirated software or any copyright materials without the permission of the copyright holder, not to infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party, not to distribute or deliver any software virus or worms, not to distribute or deliver any data, material or information which is defamatory, false or which would infringe the proprietary rights of a third party and not to do anything in relation to the Website which would constitute a criminal act.

(a) that is threatening, defamatory, obscene, indecent, seditious, offensive, pornographic, abusive, liable to incite racial hatred, discriminatory, menacing, scandalous, inflammatory, blasphemous, in breach of confidence, in breach of privacy or which may cause annoyance or inconvenience; or

6.2. The VFI shall fully co-operate with any law enforcement authorities or court order requesting or directing the Company to disclose the identity or locate anyone posting any material in breach of this clause.

6.3. The VFI reserves the right to remove, edit, move or close any thread or post for any reason and to suspend or ban any user account or user for any reason and without notice. 7.1. This Website contains links to third party websites. These linked sites are not under the control of the VFI and the VFI is not responsible or liable for the contents of any these linked sites, including without limitation any link contained in a linked site, or any changes or updates to a linked site. The VFI is not responsible for any form of transmission received from any linked site nor is the VFI responsible if the linked site is not working properly. The VFI is providing these links to you only as a convenience.


8.1. The Website and its contents are protected by copyright, database rights and other intellectual property rights. The VFI retains all rights, title and interest in and to, all intellectual property, data, text, images, software and other elements displayed on or distributed from the Website unless otherwise specified.

8.2. The contents of these pages may not be reproduced, in part or in whole, without the prior consent of the VFI. Dissemination by any person of the information contained in this Website is strictly prohibited. The VFI and its associated companies disclaim liability for any type of loss or damage which may be suffered by any person resulting from the dissemination or use of this Website or any of its contents.


9.1. In holding and processing personal data, the VFI wishes to comply with all data protection requirements under Irish law. In this regard, the VFI requires the prior consent of applicant members to the processing of their personal information. For the purpose of complying with the data protection principles, as set out in the Data Protection Acts 1988 and 2003 (as amended, modified or enhanced from time to time), the VFI confirms that it is a data controller in relation to personal information held about its members and registered users of the Website. The specified purposes for which the VFI holds information, envisages processing personal data regarding members and to which applicant members consent in completing the Join Us Form, are;

  • to contact them by telephone, post or email regarding membership news, events, training and other membership related matters;
  • to promote and create awareness about the VFI and its members; and
  • to publish members’ personal data on the Website, www.vfi.ie, in connection with the provision of information to users of the Website, including but not limited to their publication in the Pub Finder area of the Website, and
  • to use this information to contact members with direct marketing material.

9.2. Members may request that their personal data is not used for direct marketing purposes by the VFI. In addition to the right to be informed that your personal data is being processed, members also have a right to be given a description of such data and the purposes for which it is being processed and a right of access to their personal data. Such right may be enforced by contacting the VFI data controller representative at enquiries@vintners.ie. If you believe that personal data held about you may be inaccurate please report this to the VFI data controller representative at enquiries@vintners.ie
