The name "JM's" tells a story common to many Irish families in the 1800's. Barney O'Hare was a stone mason in a small town called Glen in Co. Down. There were many families with the name O'Hare living in the area, and as was the usual tradition in Ireland at that time, each family was given a nickname to tell them apart. As Barney was a stone mason by trade his clan were called the masons. In 1908 Barney and his wife Elizabeth welcomed a son called John to the family. Johnny Mason, as he was known, worked hard all his life and married Mary in 1949, they went on to have a large family.
