About Us

Joseph Mc Hugh's is a landmark public house made famous by its original owner who still lends his name to the business and the song telling the world of his lifestyle, the last verse of which still describes the pub as it is today:

"So there you have it the song I declare, About the small pub in the sweet Co. Clare, Where time has stood still and old ways remain, and they laugh at computers and mad college brains, So if you're in trouble - find yourself in a jam, Want a wife or a greyhound or a half pound of ham, You can do a lot worse, the truth I tell you, Than call on Liscannor and Joseph Mc Hugh's"

There is a much greater range of food available at McHugh's today, but the atmosphere is still the same. Good food, a great pint, good company, music and craic are the order of the day!

On route to the world famous Cliffs of Moher, Joseph McHugh's pub has for many decades provided a wonderful and enjoyable meeting place for local people and tourists. Coach tours and groups are most welcome and parties are catered for.
