About Us

McHugh’s Bar is located in Grattan Street, in the centre of Sligo Town. It is undoubtedly one of Sligo’s most popular pubs. It has three bars, one located on ground floor level and two bars upstairs. There are also two excellent heated smoking areas.

Food is served six days a week (12pm to 3.30pm Monday to Friday and 12pm to 5pm on Saturdays. The menu is both extensive and imaginative, with something to suit everyone. McHugh’s Bar attracts a good mix of customer, young and older, locals and visitors to Sligo.

McHugh's Bar is the ideal venue for watching all sporting is also one of  the first venues in Connacht to have 3D TV.  So for all soccer, gaelic, hurling, rugby etc McHugh's is the place to be.  McHugh's are also proud sponsors of Sligo Rugby Football Club.

McHugh’s Bar is the ideal place to settle down for a relaxing evening with friends during the week, or a lively night out come the weekend. Whenever you decide to visit you are assured of a warm welcome and are guaranteed not to be disappointed.

Local Attractions

Shopping: Mc Hugh’s Bar is within 5 minutes walking distance of Quayside Shopping Centre and Johnston’s Court Shopping Centre.

Sligo Abbey: 13th Century Abbey which still contains carvings, including Gothic and Renaissance tomb sculpture, a well preserved cloister and the only sculptured 15th Century High Altar. This is also within 5 minutes walking distance.

Lissadell House and Gardens: Located 7km north of Sligo. Lissadell is the former home of the Gore Booth family and childhood home of Countess Constance Markievicz.

Drumcliffe Cemetery, Round Tower and High Cross: this is the burial place of W.B. Yeats
