About Us

Standing proud on the crest of Prospect Hill, The Western Bar has served the people of Galway and those from distant shores for generations.  Ideally located in the heart of Galway City, this 19th Century Georgian building has seen the City of the Tribes evolve into the cultural centre of the west which attracts thousands from home and abroad every year.

The Western Bar is a city centre pub that enables its guests and customers escape the hustle and bustle of the city life yet still creating a friendly atmosphere coupled with great service.  With entertainment to suit all tastes including one of Galway's largest gatherings of traditional musicians, The Western Bar is sure to have something for everyone. 

Our award winning kitchen brigade will be sure to delight the palette with our extensive lunch and a la carte menus served all day every day.

The Western Bar offers spacious accommodation to those wishing to sample all Galway has to offer.  The Western Hotel's  39 bedrooms and 4 apartments are ideal for those midweek or weekend breaks.  Our Wifi internet always goes down well with those on business trips.
