This is a centuries old family-run pub situated on the Monivea-Castleblakeney-Ahascragh-Ballinasloe road (R339). It is about 9m/16km from Monivea, 4m/6km from Menlough and Mountbellew, 2m/3km from Castleblakeney and 8m/14km from Ahascragh. The first mention of this pub is in the 1770's when a Garet Ruan was publican. The oldest part of the house, in which the bar is situated, dates back to this time.
